These macro and micro investigations of nature where painted Australia following a year of traveling. I am painting in watercolor and other water based paints and mediums onto Yupo, a polypropylene paper made in Japan. I work both from sensate memory and my photographs. I offer perspectives that appear to be both from a distance or aerial view, and extremely close up, even microscopic. Although often natural in color, they have a vibrant, jewel-like quality and are full of texture and movement. I invite the viewer to explore, linger, and return to the places I have created here.
